Founded in the fall of 2006, the CMA Jazz Ensemble is a mixture of students and faculty ranging in ages from 11 to 45. The focus of this ensemble is to provide students with a real world jazz/improvisation experience that is not found at any other private music school.

The arrangements for this ensemble are created by CMA faculty member Russell Myers with assistance by faculty member Wes Miller. The group has performed extensively at the Short North Gallery Hop and other venues around Columbus.

The CMA Jazz Ensemble provides the opportunity for private students of CMA to actually compose and/or arrange their own pieces for the group to play. The focus is extremely performance oriented. Participants must be taking private lessons and show a high degree of accomplishment on their instrument.
