Wes [Miller], I wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for all you have done in teaching our boys over the years. They have both gained so much from learning to read music and play an instrument—not just playing music, but also learning how to give a performance, how to work in a group, and how to keep persevering until they get it right. Mike and I very much appreciate your patience and hard work in helping them achieve that. I know for Kevin, being a part of the concert band and jazz band at St. Charles has been a tremendous experience that lets him feel a part of his high school as well as leading him to new opportunities. I hope that he will continue to play in college in some fashion because I’m sure it will be a great way to meet people and be a part of things there as well. He wouldn’t have any of that if we hadn’t made the decision to sign him up with you. Time will tell whether Brian will have a similar high school experience, but with a drum set and a determined mother, there is nothing you can’t accomplish, right?!
